   Bio:

After obtaining two Master's degrees and a PhD at the Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands,
Philips Research Laboratories hired me to do research as an applied mathematician in the field of error
correcting codes. I became the lead inventor of the error correcting codes which have been accepted in the
digital video recording standard for Blu-ray disc. I showed to be an excellent team player with strong
communication skills, able to multi-task efficiently, and with an inventive mind leading to numerous granted
    US patents.

I started and managed a team at Philips Research focused on security research, and I took the opportunity
to become a visiting scientist from Philips Research at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence
Laboratory, responsible for a productive collaboration between Philips and MIT in the area of security. I
participated in the creation of physical unclonable functions (PUFs). PUF technology is the foundation of the
two start-up companies Verayo and Intrinsic-ID. I decided to stay as a research scientist at MIT introducing
a new secure device model called the trusted execution module (TEM) for commodity general-purpose trusted
    computing.

What I can do for your company or organization:

As a skilled applied mathematician with strong communication skills and 13 years of industrial and academic
experience, I have become an extraordinary problem solver efficient in delivering high quality solutions
knowing how to work well under paper and funding deadlines as is expected at MIT. I have a broad range of
research experience; digital signal processing, cryptography and security, algorithms, and information theory.
Currently I am also moving towards the field of bio-informatics, where I already published a paper on protein
folding. My work is inventive and leads to intellectual property rights, system development and coding of new
    solutions.

In the financial sector, my skills lend themselves to do quantitative analysis and developing new technology-
oriented ventures. In bio-informatics I am able to apply my knowledge of algorithms and statistics. For patent
engineering agencies I can write first patent drafts; my 20+ US granted and pending patents taught me how to
understand, evaluate, and explain ideas, extend and generalize their solutions, and formulate claims. I am
broadly interested in contract work not only limited to the above mentioned sectors.
